Craft Beer Week May 11-May 17

Come out and celebrate Craft Beer Week with us!
Here is what is happening at our Patchen location:
Monday, May 11 we will have a Country Boy Tap Takeover
Thursday, May 14 we will have a Dual Tap Takeover with Victory and Uinta.
Seriously, as if you needed another reason to drink beer, we now have a week to celebrate some of the best craft beers from around the country and here in Lexington.  We hope to see ya because Craft Beer is GOOD!

Blues Jam

It 's that time of year again. The weather is breaking and Patchen's patio is about to turn it up to Eleven!  Our second year of Blues Jam, hosted by Matt Noell, kicks back up this Sunday, April 19th. This is a really unique format, as Matt and the house band kick off the jam, then allow other local musicians to sit in and jam with them.  So if you can play or sing, bring your instrument and voice to our Patchen location every Sunday this patio season and enjoy some of Lexington's best Jams. No worries if it rains, we just move inside.  Jam goes from 6-10!

The Boys of Summer

March Madness has come and gone, and a 21 year old is the Masters champion. Now it's our National Pastimes turn to shine! The Reds are off to a nice start and where better to catch all their games than Shamrocks.  All Reds games can be seen at both locations, while our Hartland location carries the MLB Extra Innings package, so that you can catch every game of your favorite team.  It's always a good day to play two at Shamrocks!

About Us

Shamrock Bar and Grille opened it’s doors in September of 1993.  John Lynaugh and Bob Blackburn brought the feel of Lynagh’s Pub on campus out to the suburbs of Lexington.  Everything John does is very unique, including the large wood table he and Bob turned into a 21 tap draft wall that was the centerpiece of the bar!  We recently updated our draft wall and put in a new draft system that boasts 24 taps!  Shamrock’s soon became a melting pot of everything Lexington had to offer; college kids, professors, suits and everything in between.

Over the years, changes have been made to help the improvement of Shamrock’s.  A deck was constructed to add a new feel in the spring and summer.  In 2004, C.O. and Heather Trump came full-circle (C.O. was a bartender for “The Rock” when it first opened) and bought out John Lynaugh.  In December of 2013, Steve Reed, a former cook/kitchen manager/General Manager bought out Bob Blackburn.  While John and Bob have retired, their vision is still alive and well two decades later.  Through all of the changes, the constant has always been the food.  While the O’Round burger keeps the tried and true coming in, the entire menu is well known for being some of the best pub food anywhere!  Generous portions and great quality that won’t break the bank has always been our motto.  With great food, cold beer, live music, a great place to watch sports and a friendly atmosphere, Shamrock’s is a no-brainer, for those looking for a “true” neighborhood bar and grille.

In April of 2006, we opened our second location on Hartland Parkway.  Rick Perry joined in with us on our new adventure, making his and Heather’s world also come full-circle (Heather had worked for Rick for years when he was the proprietor of Spud’s).  Our new location has become a huge success for us on the south side of Lexington.  This location has become a great gathering spot for families and youth sports teams.

Both locations welcome everyone, we strive to continue the tradition of being exactly what our community expects of us.  While times and trends have changed, some things have stayed the same.  We love making homemade food, serving cold beer, supporting local musicians and being a great spot to watch all of your favorite sports teams.

Shamrock’s is a mom and pop bar and grille.  We don’t try to pretend to be anything other than what we are.  The owners, employees and customers are all family.  Everyone is welcome and we strive to be great, whether it be for lunch, dinner or just a drink!  Erin Go Braugh!
